Marina del Pilar: Baja California leads in foreign vehicle regularization

Through the program promoted by the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, thousands of citizens will be able to safeguard their cars

Baja California Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda revealed that Baja California currently leads in foreign vehicle regularization with more than 46,000 registered units so far on Wednesday, July 20.

Thanks to this, thousands of car owners can now be certain that their assets are protected as the social policies promoted by the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, continue.

During the 35th edition of “Wednesday Morning Press Conference with Marina del Pilar”, the state governor emphasized the social value of the foreign vehicle regularization program as it strengthens people’s economy since they need these cars in order to carry out their basic activities.

“We have to keep emphasizing the program so that we can reach the most amount of regularized foreign vehicles in Baja California. It is a great program that our President made thinking about the needs of many Baja Californian families, in this case, protecting their vehicles,” she said. She also said that there are currently seven regularization units with a total of 43 lanes.

Governor Marina del Pilar also thanked people’s understanding regarding the long lines and other inconveniences that could have happened, since this process is meant for a high number of people.

Marina del Pilar highlighted that while in March there were 60 daily regularizations, in July there are a total of 1,400 registrations per day, which reflects the work developed by the Secretariat of Finance of Baja California, led by Marco Antonio Moreno Mexía. The current goal is to reach 2,000 registrations per day.

Ávila Olmeda pointed out that reaching first place in regularizations was possible thanks to the close collaboration between the Baja California Government and the Executive Secretariat, and the efforts of the more than 300 people that are a part of the local teams supervised by SAT BC. Among these there is personnel from the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSCBC), REPUVE, IMOS, INVEC, the Secretariat of Finance, and support staff from the Government of Mexico.

Meanwhile, Emeterio Flores, Subsecretary of Innovation of the Secretariat of Finance, stated that there are currently 7 units in the state: two in Tijuana, and the rest in Mexicali, Ensenada, San Quintin, Playas de Rosarito, and Tecate. He also added that he hopes that another unit begins operations next Monday, July 25, in the San Felipe municipality.
