Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda led the beginning of the Covid-19 vaccination programs for children between 5 and 11 years old in the municipality of San Felipe. This shows the commitment her administration has in protecting the state’s children against the virus. In addition, she was accompanied by the head of the Secretariat of Health, Adrián Medina Amarillas who pointed out that the campaign is part of the National Vaccination Strategy and it covers the seven Baja Californian municipalities, so as to reach the highest number of children in this age range.
“We are going to be where the people need it. We have said it before: this is a government of the land, not from the office. We are going to keep working,” Marina del Pilar said as the health campaign launched, pointing out that the goal is to benefit the Baja Californian population by protecting it from the coronavirus.
Marina del Pilar also thanked the support of federal institutions in strengthening the vaccination process in Baja California, especially the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS), the Secretariat of the Navy (SEMAR), and the Institute of Security and Social Services of Government and Municipal State Workers of Baja California (ISSSTECALI). These are organizations that have helped the state government logistically so as to strengthen the campaign’s reach.
In her speech, the governor revealed the vaccination sites that have begun operations this Monday, June 27. They are located in strategic points in each municipality in order to reach the highest number of children, as well as continuing the boosters for teenagers and adults in case more than 4 months have passed since their last vaccine.
The sites revealed were Mexicali: Plaza Sendero, Plaza Cachanilla, Macroplaza del Valle, Cobach “Guadalupe Victoria”; San Felipe: Hayward Park; Tijuana: Jurisdicción Sanitaria Número 2 facilities, Parque Morelos, Instituto de Movilidad Urbana Sustentable (IMOS); Tecate: the city’s Center of Health; in Playas de Rosarito: Health Center; in Ensenada: Centro Cultural Riviera in Enclave Artesanal and Salón Social in the Vicente Guerrero delegation.
Marina del Pilar witnesses delivery-reception act in municipality of San Felipe
In another item on her agenda at San Felipe port, Governor Marina del Pilar participated in the delivery-reception act of goods from the Mexicali Municipal Administration to the Municipal Council of San Felipe, led by José Luis Dagnino López, who will choose its first municipal administration in the 2024 elections.
At the ceremony the following people were present: Mexicali’s Municipal President of the XXIV Municipal Administration Norma Alicia Bustamante Martínez; Esperanza Valderde Zamorano, Administrator of the Foundational Municipal Council; Daniel Valenzuela, General Secretary of the XXIV Municipal Administration, and council witnesses Rubén Ruiz and Mónica Cortázar.
Marina del Pilar highlighted the value that San Felipe shows to Baja Californian people but especially Mexicali natives, since the port has been part of the state’s capital’s life for several generations, which is why this Monday’s delivery-reception constitutes a historic event.
