CONALEP Baja California signs agreement with UC San Diego

The University of California signs the agreement for student, teacher, and research mobility

With a strategic plan in favor of education and research, the Professional College of Technical Education (CONALEP BC) and the University of California (UC San Diego) signed an agreement through the Calibaja of Materials and Resilient Systems, UC San Diego program.

The state director of CONALEP BC, Irma Martínez Manríquez said that the signed agreement through the Calibaja program will give students of this institution the opportunity to improve their English through a stay at UC San Diego for seven weeks, starting in summer 2023.

This academic activity includes: teachers, researchers, and student mobility; as well as research, projects, and joint educational programs; special short-term visits and programs, the state official said.

The linking program will begin in October of this year and will close in February of 2023, where the students will have the opportunity of sending their projects. They should take into account, however, that they need a letter of recommendation by one of their teachers, good school grades, and a two-page essay where the student describes why they want to participate and their specific area of interest.

The student’s lodging includes food, excursions, and other program expenses.

The investigation summer program ENLACE in UC San Diego has as a goal promoting the participation of high school students and researchers and teachers of Science and Engineering, as well as promoting cross-border friendships between Latin America and the United States.

At the event, institutions from Baja California, Baja California Sur, Sinaloa, Nuevo Leon, Nayarit, and Jalisco were present.
