The access to “El Gallo” bridge at Reforma Avenue in Ensenada, where more than 50,000 vehicles travel every day, will open to the public at the end of the month.

Baja California Governor Marina del Pilar announced that circulation at the “El Gallo” bridge access will open in the city of Ensenada, in Reforma Avenue, on June 30 of this year.

The governor emphasized that this avenue is part of the Transpeninsular highway, which connects the north and the south and vice versa, and around 50,000 people travel through it every day for each direction.

“The opening of this bridge will be, provisionally, two lanes per direction, since they are three. There will be a horizontal sign made with paint to demarcate the lanes and there will be protection signs on the outer lanes so that work can continue regarding the sidewalk and handrail,” she said.

For his part, Infrastructure, Urban Development, and Territory Redesign Secretary, Arturo Espinoza Jaramillo, said that, so far, 5,040 square meters have been built on the northern ramp and the bridge, and it is estimated that the south ramp will be finished by building 3,700 square meters of concrete.

The state official said that while the access to the bridge is open, the lower part will continue to be under construction since there are pending issues regarding water and sewage that must be repaired.
