Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, Baja Californian Governor, reiterated her commitment with Tijuana citizens of promoting an efficient and safe mobility model, claiming that a deep analysis of the Integral System of Tijuana Transportation (SITT) will be carried out in cooperation with the municipal authorities who are currently managing the coordination of this transportation model.

During the 29th edition of Wednesday Morning Press Conference with Marina del Pilar, which took place at CEART (State Center of the Arts in Tijuana) facilities, the governor underscored the relevance of having efficient roads to improve people’s quality of life.

“For us, it is important to keep improving mobility in the city of Tijuana. We have said that when we speak about mobility, we are also talking about an efficient transportation system,” she emphasized.

The state governor said that their intention is to move to a city model where all people use their cars less and use more public transportation, with it being completely functional. This is why projects such as the RESPIRA program is looking to transform the way in which Baja Californians move from place to place.

“We will keep working on the RESPIRA program so that all people spend less time in traffic and more time at home. That is what we are looking for: to bring solutions to the people of Tijuana,” she said.

For his part, Secretary of the Interior, Catalino Zavala Márquez, explained that the administration’s current priority is to build coordination models with other authorities and institutions to move forward in the development of public transportation in the state.

In addition, he said that the transition process of SITT to the state government will continue, according to the terms of the Mobility Law.

In her morning press conference, issues related to water supply in the seven municipalities were addressed, as well as progress in the educational development of the state, operatives to strengthen justice, safety in communities, among others.

Marina del Pilar celebrates Freedom of Speech Day

Moreover, Marina del Pilar also celebrated Freedom of Speech Day with journalists and communicators of Tijuana, Playas de Rosarito, Ensenada, Tecate, and San Quintin, highlighting their daily effort to properly bring information to society.

The governor said her administration will keep working so that freedom of speech, transparency, and respect for the work of media outlets will continue to be dominant, since these are the platforms that people use so that they can make the best decisions.
