Baja California is renowned worldwide for several reasons, such as gastronomic, cultural, and artistic reasons. However, there are other issues that also play a big role here, such as organizations that support people who need help in certain aspects of their lives and a clear example of this is the Castro-Limón Foundation.

Cleofas Arreola is one of the directors of Fundación Castro-Limón, being the Vice President of Public Relations and Event Committees. This foundation is supported by charity through several events and donations by companies, and everything that is fundraised is allocated to different causes such as helping children with cancer in Baja California.

It should be noted that Cleofas is the first guest of Baja Window to the South that has come back to the show for a second interview, and says that he wishes to return many more times to the show. He said that the foundation has begun its “Baja con Quimio” campaign where they are looking to get 1,000 chemotherapy sessions for Baja Californian children through several events. Arreola said that a child needs up to 130 chemotherapies per year and if the goal is achieved, they will be able to help approximately 10 children. They are currently bringing aid to 67 children.

The most recent event related to this campaign took place last June 2nd. It was called Baja en Valle, and occurred in Valle de Guadalupe. It was a fashion show with 50 models from Ensenada, Tijuana, Mexicali, and San Diego. It obtained clothes from different places, and even had some from Bloomingdale’s, a luxury clothing store by Macy’s.

This event was completely organized by Comité Alianza of San Diego and helped to raise funds for Baja con Quimio.
