Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, Baja Californian Governor, delivered Violet Cards to several women in order to ensure the welfare of all families so that mothers have everything they need so they can take care of their families.

In her speech to mothers present at Mexicali’s Civic Center, Marina del Pilar said that all mothers’ priority is to encourage their children and that all mothers have the administration’s support to accomplish this goal.

"This program is for those who need it the most. As state government, we are working so that all of you are safe. You are not alone, do not be afraid of raising your voice," she stated.

The state governor said that the Violet Card is part of a series of projects whose goal is the development of women in the state. Such is the case with other projects such as the Justice Center for Women and the Violet Squad, part of the Secretariat of Citizen Security of Baja California (SSCBC), which is focused on fighting against gender violence.

For his part, Netzahualcóyotl Jáuregui Santillán, Secretary of Social Wellness and Integration, said that this project’s goal is to deliver 30,000 violet cards in 2022, of which 10,000 belong to Mexicali.

Because of this, he reiterated that this bimonthly support of $2,800 pesos, as well as the first deposit which corresponds to the months of May and June, will be carried out next month.

Jáuregui Santillán emphasized that this is a debit card which can receive money and make payments as any other bank card. However, the enrollment includes other benefits such as life insurance and electrical and locksmithing services for homes.
