Year after year, Río Bravo Avenue is filled with people who are looking for the perfect bouquet to celebrate their mothers with the most beautiful colors. This year is no exception and on May 10, 2022, this avenue was filled with so many flowers that the street itself was practically impossible to travel through.
In fact, for a few years now, police have placed cordons in this area and have occasionally prohibited using this street. It is also common that on Mother’s Day, flower prices increase radically, not only on this avenue, but in most places that sell them.
“We live here and whenever it is Valentine’s Day or Mother’s Day it is impossible to find parking, sometimes the cars are double parked and we cannot go through,” said Norma E. who lives in a house located at Colonia Marrón.
“Yes, flower prices go up, depending on the place, and they make these bigger and prettier bouquets. For me, it is worth it, because with $400 pesos you buy a special arrangement. It’s worth it if you want to spend it,” she added.
A bouquet is usually around $200 pesos, but on this day it costs approximately $400 or $450. However, these prices can be worth it because some popular flower shops stated on May 9 that they were out of flowers due to the amount of orders they had received. They said that they would only deliver their orders on May 10, and the ones that were available had run out before 12 PM.
Down below, you can see a $15,000 pesos ($735 dollars) bouquet made out of approximately 350 red roses. This is the most expensive bouquet at Río Bravo Avenue.
And what do you think? Is it worth it to spend $500 pesos for a small bouquet?
