In Baja, California, virtual lessons and school sanitation begin.

In schools from January 4 to 14, protection kits containing face masks, antibacterial gel, soap, sanitizing solutions, antibacterial towels, and other items will be supplied.

The restoration of virtual classrooms and the commencement of cleaning and cleanliness days in primary education institutions have been approved by the Secretary of Education, Gerardo Sols Benavides, and the Secretary of Health, J. Adrián Medina Amarillas. This is to assure parents and society that schools will be safe environments for Baja California's children and youth. The event took place in Mexicali's municipality's "General Miguel Alemán" primary school.

The above is possible in Baja California thanks to the collaborative efforts of the government, labor unions, and civil organizations involved in the Return to Face-to-Face Classes, including the Secretaries of Health and Security, the State Legislature, and the Human Rights Commission, among others.

This cleaning will be done by the campuses' administrative, teaching, administrative, and educational support employees, with the help of 65 sanitation workers working at the same time across the state.

He said these 65 crews would be spread throughout the state: 20 in the Mexicali municipality, 20 in Tijuana, 10 in Ensenada, 6 in San Quintín, 5 in Playas de Rosarito, and 4 in Tecate.

He also stated that from January 4 to 14, 2022, schools would be given protective materials such as face masks, antibacterial gel, soap, sanitizing liquid, and antibacterial towels, among other items.

The pupils, however, will be served through Classroom on the Google for Education platform while cleaning and sanitizing procedures are carried out, according to the Secretary.

He explained that when it came to the opening of the educational centers, several factors were taken into account, including infrastructure, protocols (the installation of sanitary filters), the activation of the Social Participation Councils and their health committees, and personnel training and vaccination (academic and administrative).

These changes will enable the return to face-to-face sessions to begin on Monday, January 17, 2022, while remaining compliant with federal and state health regulations.

Adrián Medina Amarillas, stated that a priority aspect of his leadership was to ensure that the return to face-to-face classes in our entity was done in a safe and orderly manner, so a joint work was started between the agency under his charge and the Ministry of Education, a process he described as "full of learnings" because he saw the contributions of school authorities, parents, and teachers.
