A third booster dosage against Covid-19 will be given to teachers and healthcare workers in Mexico.

During his morning news conference, Mexico's president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, declared this, albeit he did not specify when the campaign would begin.

The president stated that the administration will complete the vaccination of the elderly and will continue to make progress in these demographic areas.

"It was decided to give the booster vaccine to all teachers, yeah, so that the national teachers are aware of it."

He mentioned that the administration of the third dosage, which corresponds to the AstraZeneca biological, might start shortly in Mexico City.

To date, officials have documented 25 occurrences of the omicron form in the country, with infected individuals displaying minor symptoms and some low vaccination.
