Long lineups to get into the US from Tijuana are reported as part of the pre-Christmas chaos.
The pedestrian line from San Ysidro Garita leads to Easy Park, while the vehicle line leads to Parque Morelos.
The reopening of the border and the enormous lines formed at Tijuana's checkpoints have sparked much discussion, and today is no exception, as several Facebook users have reported high wait times in the crossings of San Ysidro and Otay, both for vehicles and pedestrians. Although there are various reasons why a visitor wants to visit the United States, the most common purpose during these weeks is to do last-minute Christmas shopping.
These reports are shared through Facebook groups such as "How is the Tijuana Line," where members record the length of the line and the time it takes to advance; some even report the entire time it took them to cross using a timer, as well as the infamous "seagulls" that get in between the lines.
According to these users, the San Ysidro gate pedestrian line reaches Easy Park; this line also has the "standard" waiting distance, also crosses the Av. Frontera bridge and moves at a leisurely pace. The vehicle line for this same gatehouse, on the other hand, has reached Los Lamos and even Parque Morelos.
The Otay checkpoint is similar to the last one in that the pedestrian queue is likewise significant and takes a long time to complete, while the car travels slowly and arrives at Plaza Americana. If you want to visit the neighboring nation on this day, we recommend that you keep an eye on the updates and keep in mind that crossing into the US will most likely take several hours.
According to the Telnor line report, there are 25 open doors at the San Ysidro gate at 01:15 p.m., 260 cars for standard crossing, 850 vehicles on Ready Lane, and 200 vehicles for Sentri. On the other side, there are eight open doors at the Otay gate, 180 cars in the standard crossing, 540 in the Ready Lane, 140 in Sentri, and 720 persons waiting to pass into the adjacent nation on foot.
