Three people were killed by heavy rains in Tijuana

Civil Protection and Firefighters attended a total of 43 emerging complaints

The city of Tijuana was thrown into disarray on Tuesday due to severe rains, which claimed the lives of three Tijuana citizens. Civil Protection and Firefighters responded to a total of 43 new reports.

According to the information supplied by the relevant authorities, the persons who regrettably lost their lives were: a lady who attempted to cross Calle Ingenieros Civiles y Mérida in the Chapultepec district but collapsed and was pulled into a sewer by the power of the water.

The other two victims, both men, were swept away by the current in the Mariano Matamoros neighborhood at 6:36 p.m. in a sand trap in the same area, and a 65-year-old man who fell through a roof in Plaza Otay, evacuating approximately 750 people.

In turn, the Fire Department performed five rescues, reacted to 30 traffic accidents, including a rollover on Boulevard 2000 with a severe person reported, the explosion of nine damaged transformers, and six fires in a residence where a short circuit had occurred.

Similarly, 74 incidents involving spectacular falls, wires, fallen poles, and electrical failures, two collapsed fences, 46 floods and floods, seven landslides, and a transfer to the shelter were attended to.

Bernardo Villegas Ramrez, the head of Civil Protection, said that out of the total number of reports, there was a way out of the Matadero Canyon, where two injured people were treated and transferred to the Mexican Red Cross (CRM); and rescue of two people, a woman and a man, who were stuck in their vehicle in a water stream in Colonia Obrera, Senador Monzón street.
