The Elected Baja California Governor, Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda announced that the necessary steps will be taken for technological innovation for the union in the Baja-Cali macro-region, thanks to the fact that Baja California will have a representative office in the Silicon Valley area in California.

One of the regions that has been a reference point for global technology development has been Silicon Valley, California, where it has been successful as an innovation hub for technology, making it a strategic place where the Baja California government needs a representative office to link talent from both states.

For the Elected Governor of Baja California, it is strategic that the state is collaborating directly with the epicenter of innovation worldwide, since being aware of technological changes will allow young entrepreneurs and projects in Baja California to take advantage of them to improve their competitiveness.

Among the main companies visited in Silicon Valley were Plug and Play, Apple Campus, Echo Pixel, Amazon Laboratory, Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Flex.

Among the meetings held by the Elected Governor, the one with the Lieutenant Governor of California, Elena Kounalakis, to address various issues of interaction between the two states, especially the importance of economic development and border crossings, stood out.

She emphasizes that the crossing between Tijuana and San Ysidro is the largest in the world, with millions of annual pedestrian and vehicular crossings, which undoubtedly marks the destiny of the binational community, which exercises joint investments, trade, health care, cultural and social development, among other elements of the region.

Both Ávila Olmeda and Kounalakis highlighted the current conditions of the border, and the possibility of this region having a new union where the different vocations of both entities can be potentiated.

Among the main issues addressed during the working tour is that the border means trade and investment, which translates into jobs in both countries, meaning an economic engine and a source of livelihood for thousands of families, so the unity of criteria and joint work should continue to be the guidelines of the binational relationship, especially between Baja California and California.
