The Tijuana City Hall completed the second cleaning and rehabilitation day of Bulevar 2000, one of the busiest avenues in the city, calling on citizens not to litter.
During a 12-kilometer walk through the area being cleaned by the Department of Municipal Works and Urban Infrastructure (DOIUM), the municipal president Karla Patricia Ruiz Macfarland, noted the improvement of the internal parts of the corridor, however, she also detected that the first 12 kilometers that had been rehabilitated during the first day on August 14, were once again littered with garbage.
For this reason, the mayor made an invitation to the community to support the cleaning work by not throwing garbage on public roads, since it is about the image of the city and also the contamination affects the people themselves.
The DOIUM director, Alfonso Padrés Pesqueira, joined this invitation and informed that this time the work on Bulevar 2000 concluded at the access to Colonia Cucapah.
In the two cleanup days, the first one from the El Cimarron Road Distributor, a total of 380 tires and 160 tons of garbage were collected with the participation of 430 people who dedicated two weeks to the work.
At the end of the visit to the avenue, the mayor was approached by residents of the area, who had requested the intervention of the municipal authority to carry out improvement activities, to thank the immediate attention they received.
