Third wave of COVID-19 in Baja California will end in 7 days

The state has 432 active cases

The state Secretary of Health, Alonso Pérez Rico, foresees that the third wave of COVID-19 will end in 7 days in Baja California.

During his daily press conference, the doctor specified that at this moment the infection curve is increasing, registering a slight decrease yesterday, so the trend must be studied in the following three days to have a favorable scenario.

He clarified that Baja California will continue under the yellow epidemiological traffic light for 14 more days according to the instructions of the Secretary of Health and the Governor of the State.

Mexico is currently in 18th place worldwide with 7 thousand 658 infected in the last 24 hours. This brings the total number of active cases in the country to 132 thousand 929, of which 432 are in Baja California.

Tijuana is the municipality with the most active cases in the state with 548, followed by Mexicali with 362, Ensenada with 232 and Rosarito with 65. According to the health report, 4 patients lost their battle on the last day. There are 57 people intubated of which 55 were not vaccinated; there are also 142 hospitalized in the state.

Since the pandemic began, 8 thousand 928 people have died in Baja California from COVID-19.
