The Safe Summer 2021 operation has begun in Ensenada, with the participation of security corporations from the three levels of government.

According to Armando Ayala, mayor of this municipality in Baja California, the actions that will be carried out from this weekend until August 29, will be deployed from La Mision, Isla de Cedros, Puertecitos to Punta Colonet, in order to provide security to local families and tourists.

Among the participating agencies are the Municipal Public Safety Directorate (DSPM), the Municipal Civil Protection Coordination and the Fire Department. They will also be in coordination with the Secretary of the Navy, the General Directorate of Highways and Facilities, and the National Guard.

Ayala asked visitors to take care of their families during this holiday season and to avoid driving tired or under the influence of alcohol.

On the other hand, he emphasized that there will be permanent operations to check nightclubs, stores, plazas, restaurants and recreational areas, in order to reduce the probability of risk for residents and tourists, where the protocols dictated by the Health Secretariat will continue to be constantly reviewed.

At the same time, he invited citizens to join in keeping public spaces clean, such as beaches, since the Federal Maritime Terrestrial Zone (Zofemat) collects around 5.5 tons of garbage every weekend on beaches, as part of the efforts to maintain clean and dignified spaces for the community.
