During his work tour in Mexico City, Armando Ayala Robles, Mayor of Ensenada, held a meeting with Nicolás Cano Ibarra, General Director of Regional Development and Tourism Promotion of the Ministry of Tourism of the Government of Mexico, for the return of cruise ships to this Baja California municipality.

According to Ayala, cruise ships could return in the next few months to Ensenada, after Cozumel and Mahahual, since it is considered as a destination for the reactivation of the shipping industry.

"As a destination we have to comply with a series of sanitary and biosecurity protocols in coordination with tour operators, restaurants, handicraft vendors and other service providers related to cruise tourism," said the municipal president.

He added that Secture provided him with the protocols being implemented by Cozumel as the first destination in Mexico to which cruise ships returned, so that they can be replicated in Ensenada.

In turn, he commented that he requested a meeting with Michelle Paige, president of the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Federation (FCCA), to address and arrange the arrival of cruise ships to Ensenada as soon as possible.

Finally he expressed that, while they advance with the negotiations for the reactivation of nautical tourism, Ensenada is prepared with greater tourist attractions.
