This Friday, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) issued a statement informing that people who wish to travel in the United States and who are already vaccinated will be able to travel without the need for a coronavirus test or quarantine.

The CDC modified these guidelines because people who are vaccinated (with two doses, or one in the case of Johnson & Johnson) are less likely to contract the virus and therefore spread it. According to Dr. Rochelle Walensky, director of the CDC:

With millions of Americans getting vaccinated every day, it's important to update the public on the latest science on what fully vaccinated people can safely do, which now includes guidance on safe travel.

However, some people traveling to and from the United States from other countries will still need to be tested and quarantined for 7 to 10 days. Likewise, vaccinated persons should wear a mask and continue with the sanitary measures established since the beginning of the pandemic.

"The guidance issued today does not change the agency's existing guidance for people who are not fully vaccinated...CDC discourages non-essential domestic travel by those who are not fully vaccinated," the health agency said.
