Ensenada authorities announced the precautionary closure of Playa Hermosa, following the results obtained in the pre-holiday sampling of the beaches, carried out for the Easter Week period by the Health Control Directorate of the General Subdirectorate for the Protection Against Health Risks.
According to a press release, the results exceed the limits considered as permissible, since there is presence of enterococci above the stipulated in the official norm, the entrance to the sea can generate health affections.
Due to this, the authorities decided to close Playa Hermosa to the public, for any activity, until further notice.
However, another verification sampling has already been performed on this beach by the health authority, who will provide the results in the next few days to evaluate the reopening of this public space.
Primary contact seawater quality monitoring activities for the identification of health risks are carried out in seven beaches of the Municipality: La Joya, Monalisa, Pacifica, Conalep 1, Conalep 2, Playa Hermosa and La Mision.
Authorities emphasized that the other tourist destinations of beaches in the municipality of Ensenada and in the state, are suitable places for aquatic recreation, since they comply with the standard and they do not pose a health risk.
