Baja California Civil Protection issued a call to the population on Tuesday night as part of the State Early Warning Procedure in view of the rain and snowfall forecasts for the state this week.

In the announcement, the agency asked citizens to restrict mobility on the roads during the next 72 hours, especially non-essential trips, such as visits to areas where snowfall may occur.

In his last report, Salvador Cervantes, State Coordinator of Civil Protection of this entity, informed this Wednesday about the current state of the roads, registering snowfall already in areas such as El Condor.

"We have found rainy stretches on the Tijuana-Mexicali Highway, from Tijuana to Tecate, then there is a period where there is only wet pavement; however, after passing El Hongo there are already colder conditions," he said.

Cervantes insisted on driving with caution and above all not to go out or travel on the roads if it is not for something essential.
