Baja California will continue to remain in the epidemiological red traffic light next week, said the state's Health Secretary, Alonso Perez Rico.

During his daily report, he clarified that the new infections from one day to the next were 101 in the entity. "If favorable trends continue, we will be able to change the color of the traffic light to orange."

Tijuana decreased from 440 active cases to 423, Mexicali decreased from 221 to 217, Ensenada from 216 to 207, Rosarito decreased from 44 to 40, Tecate from 22 to 21 and San Felipe from 15 to 14. Only San Quintin increased from 55 infections to 57.

So far Baja California reports 32 thousand 439 negative cases, one thousand 528 suspected cases, 41 thousand 689 accumulated confirmed cases and 6 thousand 869 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic.

An encouraging fact is that hospital occupancy has decreased to 38.75%, when 30 days ago it registered 80% saturation. This means that there are 584 beds and 170 ventilators available.

“It is imminent that Baja California is going to change to an orange traffic light. We are still not going to comment which activities or how many are the capacities or which activities are going to be opened, we have to consolidate what has been achieved. It is very important to continue with these trends and start the reactivation of our communities as a whole, providing well-being to all in an even manner. If we go back to the opening of everything, we will again go back to the red”.

Said Perez Rico.
