During the live transmission of the COVID-19 update on Sunday morning, the head of the Health Secretariat of this state, Alonso Pérez Rico, pointed out that even though Baja California will continue to run under red light next week, some activities will be allowed to open.
"We will present the activities and the openings that they will be given... complying with new safety and health protocols in relation to the pilots that were developed for certain activities in certain municipalities," said Alonso.
On the other hand, he also pointed out that as soon as the new safety and health protocols are authorized, released and begin to be implemented, the activities that can be carried out again will be determined.
For the moment, no information has been provided on what these activities will be.
This Friday the Secretary of Health (SSa) updated the Epidemiological Traffic Light chart for coronavirus (COVID-19) in Mexico, indicating that Baja California would change to orange, despite this, state authorities said it will not happen, because it will remain in red.
Currently, Baja California has one thousand 262 active cases; of which 526 cases belong to Tijuana, 405 to Mexicali, 195 to Ensenada, 49 to San Quintín, 31 to San Felipe, 33 to Rosarito and 23 to Tecate.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, Baja California has registered a total of 37 thousand 410 infections, while 6 thousand 212 people have died from the coronavirus.
