COVID-19: More than a thousand active cases still present in Baja California up until this Wednesday

Tijuana continues to rank first with 411 active COVID-19 cases

It seems that the December 31 gatherings are taking effect in Baja California after 13 days have passed since that date, something that Health Secretary Alonso Pérez Rico had already mentioned.

On Wednesday morning active COVID-19 cases increased to one thousand and 15, with Tijuana leading the list with 411 of this total. This figure returned this city to the top 20 of the municipalities with most active cases in Mexico by placing it in the 18th position.

In addition, according to the head of this agency, in the last 24 hours 177 new cases of coronavirus were registered on its platform, 94 of them located in the border city.

During this same period, 47 new unfortunate deaths were reported, most of them (28) happened in Tijuana.

Currently the accumulated positive cases are 36 thousand 310: 14 thousand 686 from Mexicali, 12 thousand 570 from Tijuana, 5 thousand 293 from Ensenada, one thousand 384 from San Quintín, one thousand 193 from Tecate, 727 from Rosarito and 457 from San Felipe.

The people who have died from COVID-19 in the region are 6 thousand and 22: 2 thousand 651 in Tijuana, 2 thousand 350 in Mexicali, 772 in Ensenada, 156 in Tecate, 67 in San Quintín, 21 in Rosarito and five in San Felipe.
