Today the National Plan of Vaccination against COVID-19 was presented, detailing who will be the first to obtain the vaccine against the coronavirus and which vaccines Mexico will be acquiring from other countries.

During the press conference, the Secretary of Health, Hugo López-Gatell said that it will not be mandatory to have vaccines to return to schools, this if the risk decreases and the states are in green and if they are in yellow that return could be gradual.

He stated that he is having conversations with SEP and that among them they have been adapting and modifying the requirements to resume classes in a face-to-face manner. He added that many factors are being considered for the return.

Among these, transportation, the characteristics of the schools and the regulations of the face masks. It was reported that the vaccination process will begin in Mexico City and Coahuila within 10 days and the first ones to receive it will be health personnel and the elderly.

It is expected that the vaccine will be free for all Mexicans and according to information provided by the Undersecretary, it is estimated that by 2021 it will have full coverage.
