The City of Tijuana announced the inauguration of the mural "Heroes of the Pandemic", a work created by artist Ariana Escudero. The work will be on display at the Municipal Palace and is an effort by all involved to pay tribute to these workers who risk their lives every day.

But the tribute is not only for health workers, it is also to honor the police and emergency corps who have lost their lives due to the pandemic. Present at the inauguration were José Refugio González Valle, president of the Commission of Citizen Security and Civil Protection, Minerva Tapia Robles, director of the Municipal Institute of Art and Culture, among other officials.

The painting highlights an image of the General Hospital, which has been dedicated to treating cases of coronavirus since March. There are also images of doctors, nurses and firemen. These images seem to be part of the story that a man is telling a little girl.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, spectacular demonstrations have been held to honor those who are fighting this virus face to face, including monuments such as the Eiffel Tower, La puerta de Alcalá and the pyramids of Giza, which have been a means for the population to show their appreciation.
