It is urged to avoid non-essential trips between Tijuana and San Diego

Mexican Consulate in San Diego issues statement: "avoid non-essential trips"

Today, September 22, 2020, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a press release, in which it reiterates that Mexicans and foreigners should avoid non-essential international travel.

This with the intention of not spreading the COVID-19 virus and protecting the health of citizens of both border entities.
Due to the health emergency caused by the pandemic, since March 20th, Mexico and the United States have agreed that only people who have something essential to do in order to cross will be able to travel:

- Crossing for trade
- Crossing for work
- Cross over if you are a U.S. resident
- Crossing for school
- Emergency crossings

These measures allow for the reduction of the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Such purposes have allowed a benefit for economic activity and employment between Mexico and the United States.

Mexico, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reaffirms its commitment to the prevention in the face of the current global reality, and even more so with its neighbor country.
