Unfortunately the COVID-19 pandemic continues in Baja California and with it the quarantine, however, holidays continue to arrive, such as next September 15th, where the night of the Independence of Mexico is celebrated.

In light of this, authorities have emphasized to stay home, avoid crowded places or hosting parties or gatherings to avoid further infections by coronavirus.

That's why this September 15th the Tijuana Cultural Center (Cecut), will celebrate the national holidays very much in its own style but respecting the health measures, through its program "Contigo en la Distancia", in which it will transmit a show with music, folkloric dance and representative costumes that it will set in the atmosphere of your home.

At 7:00 p.m. (Tijuana time), you will enjoy a tour of the folklore of different regions of the country by the Ticuan Dance Company and its presentation "Dance, magic and tradition", through Cecut's Facebook account.

This company will not only present excellent choreographies, but will make you want to dance by listening to the music of different regions of the country and their traditional costumes.

"Dance, magic and tradition" will be performed digitally through a video that will start with a brief description of the program and a display of regional costumes from different states of the country, before giving way to representative dances of Northwest folklore: Sonora, Baja California and Baja California Sur, plus the incorporation of dances of the Huasteca potosina, of the leeward region of Veracruz and the inevitable footwork of Jalisco", detailed the Cecut.

In addition, for September 16 the Camerata of the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC), also at 7:00 p.m., will perform a repertoire integrated by Mexican composers, in which the delicate cadence of famous “danzones” will not be absent.

If you don't want to miss either of these two exciting events, we invite you to follow Cecut's social media networks: Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

How will you celebrate the Independence of Mexico this year?
