A new attraction focused on the little ones and the family will arrive in Chula Vista. This is the Sesame Place, a water and theme park which will have a second location in California.
SeaWorld Entertainment and Sesame Workshop announced that during the spring of 2021, San Diego will be the city that hosts its second Sesame Place theme park.
The park will consist of 17 acres (6.5 hectares) in Chula Vista, where the Aquatica San Diego park is currently located, since it is about to close.
SeaWorld San Diego spokesman David Koontz said all Aquatica slides will remain with the exception of HooRoo Runen.
The park will feature family attractions, parades and interactive experiences.
Construction is expected to begin in the Aquatica offseason and resume after its close in next year's season.
