It is estimated that there are close to 25,000 Mexicans with Permanent Resident Cards, usually known as the “Green Card,” living in Tijuana and crossing the border daily to get to work. The Green Card allows immigrants to work in the United States but also requires them to live in the country, which is why individuals with Green Cards living in Mexico and crossing north every day are not abiding by the law and could be subject to repercussions, such as inadmissibility to the U.S.
