The airline Hainan Airlines will begin flight operations in March connecting Tijuana with Beijing.
This new flight will help increase the number of international tourist arrivals, which will benefit millions of Mexican families.
The head of the Ministry of State Tourism (SECTURE), Óscar Escobedo, explained that the flight will start operating on March 21 and will connect 3 times a week a direct flight to Mexico City to Beijing, and with a stop in Tijuana. Being the third connection between Mexico and China.
Today, the Tijuana airport is connected to 37 national and international destinations, and it is foreseen that by 2018 at least 4 destinations will be added, which will generate a greater economic impact in the region.
"In 2017 Baja California achieved the historic number of more than 7 million passengers and specifically, the Tijuana airport had an increase of more than 13 percent compared to the previous year," Escobedo added.
