A 50% increase in the cost of LP domestic gas has been applied in the city of Tijuana since last December to date.
The residents were surprised by the large increase in the cost since gas is essential for all families, where now a tank can weigh 45 kilos and can cost 900 pesos ($48.00 dlls).
According to the National Price Index of INEGI, last year the cost per kilogram closed at 12.93 pesos (0.68) while this month of October closed at 19 pesos (a bit more than a dollar) per kilo.
With these increases, Baja California is now the second state in Mexico with the highest cost of this product, followed by Baja California Sur.
The residents of Tijuana clearly were affected by these increases, who also denounce bad practices by the gas companies that sell tanks without the correct amount.
