After the earthquake in CDMX on Sept. 19, Frida is undoubtedly one of the good things to talk about, and it was already honored and thanked many times, in many ways. This rescue dog is not the only one doing the job, because next to it, there are more canine friends, or lomitos, as people call them.
This situation ended in a social media initiative to erect a statue in favor of Marina-Chan (as the Japanese brigaders named Frida).
The petition was presented before the Mexican Canine Registry Institute, which suggested the collection of copper keys to be fused, and thus create a statue of this small four-legged heroine that belongs to the Canine Unit of the Mexican Navy Ministry.
According to SEMAR, Frida is 6 years old, and in the past quake participated in the search of people who were under the debris of the collapsed buildings in the city. Through her career, she has located 52 bodies.
