The General Consulate of Mexico in San Diego has invited people on social media to witness the arrival of the ARM Training Ship "Cuauhtémoc" at B Street Pier (next to the cruise terminal of the San Diego Port) on Thursday, May 16 at 9:45 AM.

The vessel will be open from May 17 to May 20 from 10 AM to 8 PM. This is a great opportunity that you cannot miss to enjoy an exciting day while learning a little bit more about the history and importance of Training Ship "Cuauhtémoc".

History of ARM Training Ship "Cuauhtémoc"

For more than three and a half decades, training ship Cuauhtémoc has sailed the oceans and seas of the world, providing training to more than thirty generations of captains, officers, cadets, and class and navy staff.

It was President José López Portillo the one who ordered the construction of the Cuauhtémoc vessel. Its construction began on July 24, 1981 at Astilleros de Celaya, S.A., located in Bilbao, Spain. Its design is the fourth and last of the great vessels conceived and built as training ships by Astilleros Celaya for Hispanic American navies.
