Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, the governor of Baja California, met with the governor of Sonora, Alfonso Durazo Montaño, in order to speak about key issues for the wellbeing of both states, considered the most dynamic ones in northern Mexico.
Marina del Pilar highlighted the relevance of Durazo Montaña as part of the group of governors of the Gulf of California, which also includes Baja California Sur and Sinaloa, underscoring this alliance as essential for the boost of regional development from several different perspectives.
During this meeting, several public interest issues were addressed, highlighting joint security strategies and the execution of priority projects, especially on infrastructure matters.
The governor of Baja California emphasized the constant coordination with the governor of Sonora to focus, above all, on security of the border region and promotion of social, cultural, and commercial exchanges, taking into account the significant presence of Sonora natives in Baja California and vice versa.
