The latest episode of Baja Window to the South will surely catch someone’s attention, since it talks about the famous border city of Tijuana and the international renown it has obtained in the last few years due to its medical tourism, gastronomy, and much more.
An example of this: Baja Window to the South host, Denitza García interviewed Dr. Carlos Bautista, who runs a cancer and autoimmune disease specialized medical center: Immunity Therapy Center.
Dr. Bautista started working in several hospitals in Tijuana and stated that Immunity Therapy Center started only as an idea or dream, but after working for several years, he decided to open a small office where it all grew and grew to become a clinic that receives patients from all over the world.
We are capable of offering the best treatments in a very caring and warm environment.
But this is not the only thing this show was about. Host Olga Sánchez de la Vega also spoke with Yolanda Walther-Meade, co-founder of This Is About Humanity, a community dedicated to raising awareness about families and children separated and reunited at the border.
“I am pleased to be with you and to present a little bit about the initiatives that have been booming in the Cali-Baja region,” Olga said and Yolanda shared that this all started as an association four years ago in order to reunite families and raise awareness about this issue.
In addition, Chef Mario Medina also appeared in this episode to share a little bit about how he arrived in the United States and how he discovered his passion for food. Medina crossed the US illegally when he was only 16 years old, spent 3 days in the desert, and from there, he went to California where he worked on the fields.
However, he had some issues due to being color blind, which prevented him from getting another job. He decided to go back to Mexico but when he arrived in San Diego, the chance he had been waiting for finally showed itself: he worked in a kitchen, started to prosper, and the rest is history.
After the interview, he went with host Scott Koenig to the famous Taquería 2000 where they both tried some delicious carne asada tacos. Scott even said that he felt that he was eating two tacos due to how well served they were. It should be noted that both the Chef Medina and our host praised the flavor of these delicious and abundant tacos.
