In Tijuana, these shrimp and marlin tacos will tantalize your taste buds.

There are a variety of textures and tastes in these tacos.

Our host, Chef Danny Betancourt, visited "Carreta Los Compadres" on Avenida 20 de Noviembre in Colonia 20 de Noviembre in this episode of Una Mordida Tacos Tijuana. Two tacos were tried here, one with shrimp and octopus and the other with shrimp and marlin, both for $85 pesos ($4.25 USD).

Octopus and Shrimp Taco

Enchiladas with shrimp, octopus, pico de gallo, avocado, purple cabbage, guacamole, chile de arbol sauce, and cheese are served in two corn tortillas. In the first instance, the tortillas are golden brown to our host's liking, and the combination of components appeared intriguing.

The cheese and the octopus stood out the least in this case, while the guacamole and shrimp were the most prominent. All of the other ingredients were well-received, and when Danny took a second bite, he commented that the flavor of the octopus was lost due to a large number of ingredients and good cooking points. Another thing to notice is that the sauce was not as hot as our host anticipated and blended well with the taco's flavor, earning it an 8.1 rating.

Taco de Shrimp con Marlin

Like the last taco, this one features enchilada shrimp, marlin, guacamole, pico de gallo, purple cabbage, cheese, sour cream, chile de arbol sauce, and chipotle vinaigrette; all served between two corn tortillas. When our host tried it, he was amazed since the marlin was served in a sauce with tomato and veggies. You can also taste the pure avocado pulp and vegetables from the pico de gallo, which give the taco that fresh touch.

Because of the many components and textures in this taco, the taste curve travels up and down like a roller coaster. For the second mouthful, our host was taken aback by the spiciness, which rendered him dizzy for a little while, but he said that in the end, all of the tastes came together pleasantly, earning this taco an 8.4 rating.
