The Johnson & Johnson vaccine has already been accepted in the United States and the European Union; it will speed up the rate of vaccination among the population due to one of its great attractions: it is a single injection.

But what are the side effects of the vaccine and, more importantly, are they dangerous? We tell you what the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has said about it. First of all, the vaccine is given in the upper arm muscle, which can make the area numb.

On the other hand, there are other side effects such as redness and swelling and other more serious ones (that less than 50% of the people in the clinical trials felt): headache, fatigue, muscle pain or myalgia.

The interesting thing about this vaccine is that those who felt the side effects the most were people between 18 and 59 years of age, while most adults over 60 said that the symptoms were very mild.

Who should not use this vaccine? People with allergies to the following compounds: sodium chloride, citric acid monohydrate, trisodium citrate dihydrate, ethanol, 2-hydroxypropyl B cyclodextrin (HBCD) and polysorbate 80.
