TIJUANA. - With the aim of bettering the school's infrastructure so that the local kids can develop their mental capacities, Tijuana's mayor, Jorge Astiazarán Orcí inaugurated two new classrooms as well as the construction of a school cafeteria at middle school number 99, also known as Rubén Vizcaíno Valencia.
During the event, which took part inside the school's facilities, the city's mayor noted that the start of a social construction will always be important because it brings great benefits for the community.
"I want to acknowledge what the school's administration did in order for these classrooms and cafeteria construction to happen. This wouldn't have been possible without committing ourselves to helping our children and teenagers with their education. Also, this school has always been known for its commitment towards the community, because it participates in beneficial activities." the mayor noted.
Also, the La Mesa representative, Ranier Alejandro Falcón Martínez, informed that $350 thousand pesos were destined towards the construction of the classrooms; a funding that came from the Ramo 33 federal program. The amount that will be used towards the construction of the school cafeteria will be of $650 thousand pesos that also come from the same federal program.
After the event, a youth service festival took place inside of the school, where 22 booth units offered advice in nutrition, information on STD prevention, addiction prevention, medical services, sport and recreational games, among other activities.
Other public officials where also there, including the secretary of the city's Social Development department, Rodolfo López Fajardo, the secretary of Public Education, Edna Mireya Pérez Corona, the municipal coordinator, César González Rojo, the Rubén Vizcaíno Valencia middle school number 99 principal, Fernando Ramírez Zavala, as well as school students.
