MEXICO.- Colorful Batmans adorned with typical Mexican decorations including Day of the Dead, Mariachi, or pre-hispanic engravings were created by at least 30 Mexicans and national collectives in an exhibit named "Batman a través de la creatividad mexicana", or "Batman expressed by Mexican Creativity", to commemorate 75th anniversary of one of the most beloved comic book characters of DC Comics. A multi-faceted exposition of various interpretations of the mask and cape of the most popular twentieth centurty hero will be on display at the Mexican Museum of Design (MUMEDI) in Mexico City .
During this month, and the first week of October, this exhibition will be held to recognize the efforts and ingenuity of young Mexicans that invested their time in these creations to honor the character first materialized in 1939 by Bob Kane.
Inspired by the design of the Dark Knights costume that will be used in the upcoming videogame to be released next year Batman: Arkham Knight, these are just some of the examples to show you of the national interpretations of this popular hero.
Once the exhibition has concluded, the pieces will be auctioned off to collect funds to benefit the Make-A-Wish Mexico Foundation, a not-for-profit that grants wishes to children diagnosed with terminal illnesses.
