UNITED STATES.- Traditionally, Mexicans celebrate independence day out on the streets of their cities the night before ithe official holiday, where they go out and "shout out" to ring in the day of celebration on September 16th. But celebrations are not confined to that day only, and usually the entire month of September is celebrated with public fairs, and decorated public squares, and other patriotic festivities. One of the most emblematic heritages of the Mexican culture is now being commemorated by international toy manufacturer, Mattel.
This month, the famous maker of Barbie dolls will mark the month of celebrations by dressing up the iconic Barbie with a mariachi outfit and other gold details symbolic of the traditional mariachi costume.
This model will be a limited edition doll exclusviely sold in Mexico and Latin America. The doll is ready to go out to celebrate and pay tribute to one of the most iconic symbols of Mexican culture, mariachi music, which was oficially recognized as part of cultural heritage in 2011 by UNESCO.
