High deportation rate causes problems in Tijuana

1,400 migrants are deported on a daily basis

During a press conference in Tijuana, the Secretary for Public Safety, Jesus Alberto Capella, gave more information in regards to those who are deported from the United States to Tijuana.

It is estimated that about 1,400 migrants are deported to Tijuana on a daily basis, and are from different parts of Mexico. Of this number, around 280 of them have a criminal record, which causes a serious problem in Tijuana, since a large number of these migrants end up committing crimes throughout the city.

Among them are two men, Leonidas Zurita Diaz, 24 , and Fernando Balderas Silva, 33, who were arrested yesterday by the Municipal Police. Both arrested for murder and belonging to a gang called "Vista home boys". Along with them were several other accomplices more.

This is not the first time that deported migrants cause such problems in this city. Just last year, six people who were hired for murderers from "Barrio Logan" were arrested after a citizen complaint.

Both the Mayor of Tijuana, Carlos Bustamante, and Bob Filner, Mayor of San Diego, are currently working together to look for the solution to this problem since they considered to be the biggest security problem in Tijuana.
