This morning around 8a.m., the former mayor of Tijuana, Jorge Ramos, was involved in an automobile accident outside Playas de Tijuana.

Witnesses said that Ramos's pickup truck hit the car in front of him as if he was distracted, which is something common on the highways coming out of Playas de Tijuana just before reaching the neighborhood of El Soler.

In this collision there were four cars involved and five people who suffered injuries, including Jorge Ramos.

For now, Ramos is in the ISSTECALI facilities (hospital for government employees) where he is receiving medical treatment, but also being detained after taking full responsibility for the collision.

It is expected that the former mayor of Tijuana will soon go to the Public Ministry office to make the appropriate arrangements for the damages he caused.
