TIJUANA – The teen-age girl who was missing for two weeks has been found and is safe, authorities announced Friday.

Two days before state authorities had asked the public for help in locating Karla Judith Morales Rodríguez, 15, who had left for school on Feb. 4 and never returned.

They announced that state police agents found her Friday in a house in the La Mesa district where she had asked a friend’s mother for shelter, saying that she was homeless.

Through the news media the mother discovered that the girl’s family was searching for her and contacted authorities. The teen-ager was reunited with her family.

State authorities thanked residents for their help in these kinds of cases that require everyone’s assistance.
