Season tickets for Tijuana Xolos on sale Monday

Soccer team will play against leading clubs

TIJUANA – Season tickets for this city's professional soccer team, the Xoloitzcuintles, go on sale starting Monday for the upcoming Apertura 2011 season.

The team won promotion to Mexico's First Division league, and so will play at home against popular teams such as Chivas de Guadalajara (Aug. 3) and Tigres (Oct. 2).

The package of tickets for nine home games is called a "Xolopass" and may be purchased through Ticketmaster starting Monday. Prices range from around $127 (1,480 pesos) to $219 (2,540 pesos).

Previous Xolos season ticket-holders may renew their passes on July 11 and 12. And general sale of them begins at the Caliente Stadium box office staring on July 13.

The Xolopass includes admission to friendly games played at the Caliente Stadium, an opportunity to buy playoff tickets, access to training sessions, among other benefits.

The season opens on July 24 against Monarcas de Morelia, at noon at Caliente Stadium.
