Border authorities stopped a mans efforts to roll drugs into the United States.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents at the San Ysidro border crossing seized five pounds of marijuana hidden in a wheelchair, according to an announcement issued Friday.
The incident occurred Monday night, at around 11:30, when a 19-year-old man in a wheelchair attempted to enter the country through the pedestrian crossing.
A CBP agent noted the man, a U.S. citizen, was very nervous and the agent requested the assistance of a specially trained dog.
The dog quickly detected the marijuana hidden below the seat of the wheelchair, the release said.
The man was arrested and turned over to San Diego Police Department.
