The political landscape in Tijuana presents a contrast between candidate preferences, especially by the candidate of Partido Acción Nacional (PAN), Maricarmen Flores, and her rival, Ismael Burgueño Ruiz, backed by an alliance consisting of MORENA, Partido Verde Ecologista (PVEM), and Fuerza por México (FMX).

The decision by PAN to choose Maricarmen Flores seems to be creating dissatisfaction among voters, as her popularity is being overshadowed by other candidates. This has been proven by polls as the newspaper El Reforma recently published results that show Ismael Burgueño as the standout leader, with a 60% lead among people for the mayor's office of Tijuana. Meanwhile, the PAN candidate is in 2nd place standing at a meager 14%.

This has created questions about PAN's strategy and the selection of their candidate in a region where they have historically had strong support. When has such an unpopular PAN candidate in polls been seen in this situation?

On the other hand, Ismael Burgueño has stood out with his slogan "Tiempos Mejores para Tijuana" (Better Times for Tijuana) and has presented proposals that voters have considered, as they address issues such as public security, mobility, and public services, backed by a strong party coalition.

In addition, a poll by San Diego Red which took place in April revealed that Movimiento Ciudadano, Partido Encuentro Solidario (PES), and MORENA are being placed in 1st places for the mayor's office of Tijuana, while traditional parties such as PRI and PAN are being left behind.

The political landscape of Tijuana looks somber for Partido Acción Nacional (PAN), as with every new poll and analysis, PAN's perspective becomes more challenging, with polls showing that they are in freefall among voters' choices. Due to this, it is clear that PAN must take concrete measures, otherwise, their decline will be inevitable.
