The Municipal Administration of Tijuana joined the beginning of the 2024 Annual Mexican Red Cross Collection in order to support this institution this year to reach a higher collection goal than last year, which was more than 287,000 pesos.
In front of the president of the Governing Board of this institution, Jorge Astiazarán Orcí, the Senior Official of Tijuana stated that on Wednesday there were 80 brigade members that began collecting money at the palace.
The official added that for the weekend, around 1,200 to 1,300 trustworthy employees are estimated to go to 44 strategic crossings in order to ask citizens for voluntary contributions to the Red Cross.
He recognized that 114 years since its official foundation, this institution has had a great service vocation as they do not ask for anything in return and the only thing that stands out is their willingness to help those who need it the most.
That's why, citizens, more than any public agency, must thank their efforts by collaborating with this collection.
The Senior Official claimed that unity and solidarity can change and save lives, which is one of the main lessons that they learn from the Red Cross where voluntary actions have this potential.
He called on Tijuana natives, its officials, businesspeople, institutions, and agencies to join this crusade to donate and make a difference.
He recognized the entire team of doctors, nurses, paramedics, stretcher-bearers, and volunteers because of how important it is that one person can save another's life.
