San Diego will have a weekend with low temperatures, rain, strong winds, and snowfall in mountainous areas, as a result of an atmospheric river that has impacted the region.

The first showers appeared this Saturday morning, but National Weather Service revealed that their radars have shown more intense cells that could cause a storm.

It should be noted that wind speed increased during the night, as gusts between 20 to 30 miles per hour have been registered.

Maximum temperatures will range between 15°C to 16°C and minimum temperatures could reach up to 11°C.

San Diego County has released three announcements: the first one to warn about the wind, which is currently ongoing in the coast and deserts, where gusts of up to 50 miles per hour are expected.

In addition, a winter storm warning was issued in mountainous areas, which will be valid from Saturday afternoon until Monday morning. Meteorologists estimate that there will be between 1 to 6 inches of snow.

Lastly, an alert due to flood risk, which will remain until Sunday evening, was issued.

People are recommended to avoid long highway trips in order to prevent possible car accidents.
