The Municipal Administration of Tijuana recently warned citizens about the partial closure of Vía Lenta Poniente which will take place on Monday, March 18. It will last 12 days.
The road will be closed starting at 8 AM to rebuild the median strip and the pipes, due to the prompt discovery of a sinkhole caused by vandalism.
As part of the emerging repair work carried out for drainage infrastructure in the city, the area where these collapsed pipe repairs will take place is at the level of newspaper Frontera, an area where daily vehicular traffic is around 96,000 cars.
For these repairs, it will be necessary to close Vía Lenta and create a detour for traffic by merging it back into Vía Rápida or using Calle Villahermosa to merge back into Vía Rápida at the level of Avenida Ermita Norte.
This project will begin on March 18 due to the slow vehicular flow of the public holiday and it will have a maximum duration of 12 days. During these days, there will be no interference of the traffic that travels through the high-speed lanes at Vía Rápida Poniente.
The area already has signs, which is why the Municipal Administration of Tijuana is asking citizens to drive carefully, to avoid walking through the area, and to stay away from the heavy machinery that will be used here.
