Following orders by Mayor Montserrat Caballero Ramírez, staff of the Municipal Administration of Tijuana, under the supervision of the Secretariat of Territory, Urban, and Environmental Development (SDTUA), responded to 65 reports in the first few hours of February 2, 2024.
The head of SDTUA, Juan Enrique Bautista Corona, revealed that among the 65 instances of assistance given there were the cleaning and desilting of 43 roads, 16 roads and drainages blocked by waste, 2 fallen trees and branches, 2 electrical failures in lighting and cables, a fallen post, and a fallen road sign.
The official pointed out that to address the incidents as quickly as possible they are working on 43 blocks in the city, 3 cleaning actions, 12 lighting actions, 3 traffic lighting actions, 3 planting actions. In addition, 2 planting actions with machinery, 10 projects with machinery, and 10 collapse assistance actions were also carried out.

Bautista Corona said that some of the roads where cleaning and desalting were carried out were Cañón del Matadero, in Libramiento Sur; Bulevar Fundadores; Avenida Venustiano Carranza, in Colonia Castillo; Bulevar Limón Padilla, among others.
In addition, the desalting of the drainage in Riberas del Bosque, the cleaning of the International Avenue extension, and the cleaning of the Volcán de Toluca desander were also carried out.
As a result of coordinated work among the staff of the municipal administration, the nine delegations, and the private sector, citizens' reports were able to be addressed in order to contribute to the reestablishment of mobility in the least amount of time possible.
The 24th Municipal Administration of Tijuana encourages all Tijuana natives to keep desanders clean and to not litter, so as to prevent blocking and to prevent problems from being caused during rainy season.
